Light-powered air purifier

Ecocoat Aerify is a titanium dioxide photocatalyst coating that turns everyday indoor surfaces into a passive air purifier. Apply it to walls, glass and other surfaces, and it works quietly in the background whenever light is present. It needs no power, no filters and no moving parts.

How it works : 

When sunlight or indoor light reaches the coated surface, the titanium dioxide becomes active and breaks down organic pollutants that come into contact with it, including formaldehyde, VOCs and smoke compounds. These are converted into water vapour and carbon dioxide. The coating isn’t used up in the process, so it keeps working for as long as it stays intact.

Lab-tested performance

In IGL R&D testing, chambers coated with Aerify brought smoke-level PM2.5 from the unhealthy range down to the good range within 15 minutes. The untreated chamber was still in the moderate range after 20 minutes. Under UV light, coated chambers reduced formaldehyde to the ACGIH threshold limit in about 2 hours, compared with 5 hours for an untreated chamber.

These results come from small sealed chambers. Performance in real spaces will vary with room size, ventilation and light exposure. Aerify supports cleaner indoor air. Continue using air purifiers, masks and official haze advisories.
